Quotes from Students at St. George Parish School
“He was very uplifting. He was funny and positive. He made sure that what he was saying appealed to us and that we understood the importance of pushing ourselves to our goals.”
“He never gave up. He was a pretty funny guy too. He was also very passionate.”
“Al Foxx was very inspiring to me. He taught me to accept myself for who I am, not what I was or will be.”
“I learned that sometimes you don’t get things right the first time….to never give up.”
“Al Foxx was an impressive motivational speaker. He proved every doctor that worked on him wrong.
They said he wouldn’t walk, talk, or drive a car but he is now doing all 3 and is getting better.
Winners don’t quit.”
“Al Foxx. Wise metaphors. Really made me think,
left an impression. Funny.”
“I admired Al Foxx. Some inspirational speakers talk about things they’ve seen happen to other people but Al Foxx actually spoke from his experience so he was real; genuine. I loved the way he incorporated humor with his past situations, that was funny. My favorite quote, “Thy will, not mine, be done.”
“Al Foxx is a funny man with lots of enthusiasm. I learned that if something is bothering you, you can change it. He helped me realize that I have a pretty good life.
P.S. Thank You!”
“Al Foxx was not afraid to admit that he is not like the rest of us, only he made it funny. I enjoyed listening to his stories and could understand him just fine! Thank you for making our retreat fun.”
“He was great and would never quit. He always had a few jokes and stories to keep us interested. He was very inspiring, never quitting even with the odds against him.”
“Al Foxx was very compassionate about his talk to Christian children.”
“He was very inspirational. His story touched my heart. His “Don’t Quit” speech was the only thing keeping me going on the rock wall.”

Dear Al
Thank you so much for coming to our Health classes. The students were so very touched by your courage, wisdom and commitment to your physical and emotional health. They said that they felt overwhelmed by your conviction to be a "Winner’. They all loved the power of your speech therapist’s words:’ ‘Winners don’t Quit!". You are a living hero to all of us struggling with our own ability to reach our personal goals and stay committed to them. Our students were struck by how menial their own personal goals were in comparison to yours. They would leave class saying "If Al can reach his goals and be the winner in life that he is, then I can ,TOO!. You give your audience hope and confidence that they thought they never had.
I look forward to having you come to our classes throughout the year. Our mission in Health is to be good to ourselves and accomplish our personal goals. You motivated us all to look at all we can become and do for others as we help ourselves accomplish our goals in the areas of physical, emotional and spiritual health. We have you to thank for touching that part of our hearts that motivates us to be better people inside and out.
Thank you, Al. Please read these notes an letters of thanks from our students. We look forward to seeing you again in our Health classes.
Sincerely,
Jolene Boyle, Counselor

Quotes from Students at Seattle Preparatory School
"We hear a lot of the 'never give up on your dreams' speech, but it was definitely more effective coming from someone who really knows and cares about what he’s saying. He is a great example of the power of personal choice. Al has turned a negative into a positive in some of the best ways possible. He is teaching kids the lessons he learned the hard way. I believe he is a more complete and successful person now."
"The biggest help for me will be the persistence and stubborn attitude I will strive to maintain about my goals, and to be accepting of myself and others."
Cary D. Seattle Preparatory School
"Your presentation is actually having an effect on the way that I think versus others that I forget immediately. You really drilled one point into my head, "Winners don’t quit! This has kept me on a personal goal I have set in my life, which is great for me personally. You were the most unique and interesting speaker I’ve ever seen and so your speech stuck in my head. I usually never listen to these but I definitely was hooked. Excellent job!"

Al Foxx has been speaking to the Sophomore Health classes at Seattle Prep for the past 6 years. The students have benefited greatly from the experience of meeting Al Foxx. Al is one of a kind and leaves a lasting impact on the students at Seattle Prep. When Al is on campus, the juniors and seniors acknowledge and welcome his presence, reflecting from the encounter they had in their sophomore year with him. He is truly loved by our students. His personal story, mixed with humor, engages every student. He is a true example of a winner. His message of goal setting, hard work, self-esteem and die-hard perseverance are imprinted on us all. The students take these lessons and can immediately apply them to their lives. I would highly recommend Al Foxx as a motivating and inspirational speaker to any group.
Sincerely,

To Whom It May Concern:
We recently had the pleasure of hearing Al Foxx speak for our 6th-10th grade Chapel. Al Foxx has a powerful testimony concerning God working in impossible situations. God spared his life when he was involved in a serious motorcycle accident. Doctors told him that he would never walk, talk, or drive again. Al is living proof of God's miraculous, restoring power.
Al's wit and heart felt approach were very effective. Al challenged the students to be "winners that don't quit". He exhorted them to look at what they have, rather than what they don't have. He encouraged them to have a vision for their life and set goals to accomplish their dreams.
I strongly recommend Al Foxx as a Chapel speaker. He is an inspiration to all that have the pleasure of hearing him speak.

Dear Mr. Fox,
Thank you so much for coming to Master’s Touch. We truly enjoyed having you here and what you had to share greatly touched our lives. What a testimony you are of God’s powerful work in a person’s life. You have gone through so much and can truly identify with other’s pain.
You were so right when you said we’ll all have our own “crash.” Jesus said, “You will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, have overcome the world.” You are an overcomer!
Thank you also for taking the time to minister to our students after chapel. You were such an encourager. One student said “he made me laugh for the first time in a long time.” I can assure you that that young lady has had tremendous struggles in “belonging.” She along with several others, have never known their real parents... and that weighs heavy upon them.
Thank you also for your incredible positive approach to life...”use what God has given you.” How true. You said so much in saying that!
You’ve definitely made an impression on my life. I truly pray that many more doors will continue to open to you ... You are such a blessing!
In Jesus Love,

Dear Al:
Thanks for coming and sharing your personal experience in such an inspirational talk. The kids really liked your presentation. There was a good balance between humor and the importance of setting goals, making good choices and never quitting. Your message was powerful and the humor captivated their interest. Your message was of particular interest to me because of knowing you as a former student. It is encouraging to see former students committed to making a difference in other young peoples' lives.
A week later I still here students saying; "WINNERS don't quit! Winners DON'T quit! Winners don't QUIT!" Several of the students have asked if you could come back some time in the future. More comments were made as follows:
"The most important thing I learned is that "Winners Don't Quit."
"The two most important things I learned are, Choices are powerful and "Winners Don't Quit."
"By his stories and his life experiences, I learned that you can do anything you set your mind and heart to and don't give up. I thought he was the best speaker I've heard in a long time because he has so much self confidence to make all those funny jokes."
"Winners Don't Quit! Al Foxx's presentation helped me in my life."
"The phrase "Winners Don't Quit!" really got to me. I will always remember it. He was very funny. I'd like to hear him again."
"Choices are powerful! Doing drugs is stupid!! Winners Don't Quit!"
"I think Al FOXX was the best comedian I've ever seen in person."
"Life is what you make it. Al FOXX is so positive, he is a real inspiration."
"Al Foxx's story was real inspiring and extremely funny. I hope he speaks at our graduation."
Thanks again for coming and sharing with us.
Sincerely,

Quotes from Students
I haven’t been reading my Bible very much and I know I need to, and you have inspired me to. I also know that even if I stumble, I need to keep trying to serve God with all of my heart. You have deeply influenced me to live a more Christian life and I know you have influenced many others and will continue on influencing others.

Thank you for speaking at our school. We had a lot of good laughs. It was really fun. I enjoyed listening to you. I believe all of what you said, we have a lot of good and bad things in this world, but you have to put the good product in if you want something wonderful to come out. I call that plan God’s recipe. It was really wonderful. Thanks again!
Chelsee B.
P.S. your jokes were great!
Thanks a lot for coming and sharing your experiences with us. I found them very entertaining and it puts things in perspective. Also, you haven’t wasted your life, you have taken something bad and turned in around for God. I believe that there was a reason for your crash and I think that you are following through with God’s new plan for your life along with changing other people’s lives and bringing them to Christ. Anyway, I want you to know that you’ve made me think a little more about the material things of this world vs. the spiritual things of God. Thank you. I wish my mother could have been here to hear you.
Come back soon.

Thank you so much for taking time to preach to us today. It meant a lot to me. you taught me that I should be grateful for everything I have and for the way I am cause my life could change in a second. You also taught me I need to keep my eyes on Jesus and to not get distracted. Thank you again and God bless.

Thank you for coming to chapel today. We all loved hearing your message. You’re a very good speaker and are welcome to come back any time. Your message spoke to us all. We learned to keep going and not give up. We also learned that God does everything for a reason. Thank you again and God bless.

Dear Mr. Foxx,
I just wanted to write and thank you for coming and speaking at our school. The kids enjoyed your presentation and you definitely made an impact on their lives. I know because even after the assembly ended and it was time to go home, they were still talking about you and how you motivated and reinforced them in a positive way.
Our staff also liked how you incorporated spiritual values and faith into your talk to reinforce the values that we teach here. Thank you again for coming here. We all really appreciated your time and message.
Sincerely,

I have had the privilege of discipling Al Foxx for the past 4 years. When he first came to me he wanted me to endorse him as a Christian speaker. I told him no! I told him rather than giving a message he had to become the message. If he was interested in becoming the message I was willing to help him. He was and he did. He has grown tremendously in his own personal holiness and obedience.
Al has a great appreciation for what it means to represent the Lord when you stand before a group of people and he has honed his life message to zero in on peoples needs. Al is amazingly funny and uses that humor to full advantage in his messages. We had him speak in our church over Labor Day weekend and people are still talking about it and downloading his message. He communicated a tremendous message of hope.
If you are looking for someone who can validate the life changing power of Jesus and the difference it can make in someone's life - Al is a great option! If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me at 425-488-5494 or stevenm@nview.org.

Al delivered a very powerful and inspirational presentation intertwining his miraculous recovery with his strong faith and trust in God. Our group was moved by Al's aspiration and determination to regain as much of his abilities as he possibily could, believing that God was there to support him. His sprinkle of humor nicely lightened an otherwise serious subject.
We highly recommend him for any Christian group. He is a walking testimony for God's faithful gifts, if one believes in Him.

To Whom It May Concern:
A1 Foxx came to our youth event on April 6,2002. We scheduled him for the Saturday evening entertainment. What a blessing he was. He has a great way of communica-ting with the audience and bringing them in to what he is speaking about.
His message was greatly received by young and old alike. It was great to see, after the program was finished, many of the youth come and stand in line to talk with him.
Our weekend was greatly impacted by Al Foxx and I know many walked away with a renewed sense of who God was and who they were in Him, I would recommend A1 Foxx for any entertainment needs that you may need.
He has a very powerful message to share - one that you won’t want to miss.

Evergreen Christian Church
To Whom It May Concern
My name is Jake Richardson and I am the Associate Minister at Evergreen Christian Church in Everett, Washington. I am writing in regards to a request from Al Foxx for a letter of recommendation. When Al asked me to do this, I was excited to show my appreciation to him in this way.
Let me briefly share with you how Al and I met. Al "happened" to stopped by the church to ask directions one day last summer. As I began to talk to Al, he began to brighten my day through his encouraging words and his great attitude about life. As Al shared with me, I couldn’t help but think that here is a guy who could blame God for his condition. He could be angry and deeply burdened. But through Al’s faith in God, he has turned his stumbling block into the foundation of who he is today.
As Al and I finished talking that summer day, I remember telling Al that I believe that he didn’t "happen" to pick this church to ask directions. It was God’s plan. You see, I was having a bad day and my ministry was going through rough times. Al stopped by and encouraged me and gave me hope. Instead of me ministering to him, he ministered to me.
Recently, Al spoke with our Jr. and Sr. High youth and their parents. He did a fantastic job. The youth and their parents loved him. One of the kids was overheard afterwards saying "Al would be a cool guy to hang with!" Al blends his humor with his life story to make him a very likable, entertaining and edifying speaker.
I would recommend Al Foxx to come and speak to any group in your church that needs encouragement through heartfelt laughter. Invite Al to come and share with you how to be a winner and why "WINNERS DON’T QUIT!"

How did Al's presentation help you personally?
What was most helpful?
Helped me to remember to count my blessings. Keeping in a good attitude in adversity.
I struggle with imagined handicaps-I need to quit whining. It takes courage to find humor in your own limitations. Al's ABC's were very helpful-easy to remember and powerful.
The funniest thing I have heard in years and gave me a healthy perspective. Being honest with ourselves.
Al's honesty was very helpful to me.
It is was a helpful reminder to me to spend time with the Lord everyday in order to progress.
I liked his candid serious approach to life with the ability to see the lighter side. Great reminder to take home. Thank you!
Seeing others' struggles helps to put mine in perspective.
I have been praying for support recently with lusts of the flesh and giving control of my life to God. I believe your presentation is an answer.
I agree with the Winners Don't Quit message. It was introduced to me before and it motivated me to stick with it.

Northshore Baptist Youth
To Whom It May Concern:
I would highly recommend Al Foxx to any youth pastor who is seeking to challenge their students to delight in Christ and in the circumstances that God has given them. Al provides a powerful testimony of Christ’s work in his life while also mixing in creative and hilarious comedy that keeps students, and adults, on the edge of their seats. Al has truly been called by God to share his story, and the impact it has is powerful.

Northshore Baptist Church
To whom it may concern,
I have been asked to write a letter of recommendation for my friend Al Foxx. Al has an incredible knack of using his humor to get a point across to his audiences. It is a real kick to watch audiences look at this brain damaged guy up on stage and see them wondering why they are there listening to him and, in the next few minutes, see them rolling in the isles with laughter. I have seen him communicate to kids, teens and adults and each group has reacted in a very positive way to his humor and his message. I have personally worked with Al over the last two years.
My challenge to him has been to be the message, not give a message. Al has proved to be very teachable in this area and as a result his ability to impact audiences for the Lord has deepened and improved. I believe he has only begun to scratch the potential he is capable of if he continues to submit and follow his Lord. This spring he spoke at our conferences youth rally held here at our church and did a great job. If you have any more questions please feel free to call me at 425.821.5252 or e-mail me at Stevem@nsb.org.

Men's Dinner
To whom it may concern:
Al Foxx has an extraordinary story to tell as we learned at a recent Men’s Dinner. After a month in a coma, he awoke with the left side of his traumatized body paralyzed from the neck down. Doctors told him he would never walk again or talk normally; God had a different plan. Al’s testimony is one of God given courage and stamina as he undertook a grueling recovery process. God’s greatest gift to Al is hope and he shares that gift with his audience.
Al tells his story blending humor with Biblical wisdom and a strong dose of practical thinking as he gives insight to life and living. You’ll be riveted to your chair with the intensity of his motor vehicle accident and recovery; suddenly you’ll find yourself rolling in the aisle with laughter. His unique perspective will disarm you; his story-telling ability will catch you off guard...repeatedly.
Through his wit, warmth, insight, and realism he brings hope to his audiences. Al’s life journey encourages and challenges those who need a vision of what is possible. I highly recommend Al Foxx to you and your organization.
Sincerely,

On behalf of Northshore Baptist Church, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for the time you gave us, to perform in front of the men at our October retreat. I understand that doing a comedy routine can be a challenge for anybody, but your ability to bring laughter to the men is a gift! You had them rolling in the aisle, as they escaped their everyday stresses and reveled in the opportunity you gave them to do so. At the same time, we came away with a clearer understanding of what a handicapped person goes thru on a daily basis. The recovery from your motorcycle accident is a spiritual encouragement and blessing that needs to be heard. Thanks again for sharing with us both your gift of comedy, and your heart for Christ.
May God continue to bless you!
